Bryan and Maria met on the Spring Equinox of 2014 at a local cidery. Bryan attempted to woo Maria with terrible puns, and she fell for it. They spent their second date at a karaoke bar criticizing the song book for its typos before Bryan stole Maria's limelight in an overdramatized version of "Safety Dance." To test Bryan, Maria asked him on a camping trip for their third date—with an hour's notice. He passed, showing up with only the bare essentionals and a ukulele tied up in rope.

Over the next (almost) 10 years, Bryan and Maria would build a home and blended family with Bryan’s sons, Sydney and Arden, and Maria’s pug-princess, Miss Shortcake. Together, they took bum-bruising bike trips, sang songs into broomsticks, had heated arguments over grammatical paradoxes (is it “Taxi Robot” or Robot Taxi”?) and co-created the game “Spoon Ladle.”

One day after a particularly good breakfast, Bryan realized that he wanted to have homemade biscuits for the rest of his life. So he asked Maria to marry him. Maria likes making biscuits, so she said yes.
